What are the eligibility criteria to apply for the CMA qualification?

In order to apply for the exam, you would need a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university (any specialization).

How do I enroll in the CMA program?

Visit IMA to apply. You will need to purchase the CMA entrance fee and IMA membership. The application process takes about 10 minutes. To complete certification requirements including submitting your education transcript and work experience.

What is the exam cost to register with the IMA?

You are required to make three payments to the IMA Institute for the CMA exam as follows:
1. Professional Membership Fee: $245
2. Exam Entrance Fee: $250
3. Exam Fee: $415

When are the CMA exams conducted?

The CMA exams are conducted 3 times a year – January/February, May/June & September/October.

What is the CMA exam format?

Each part has 100 MCQs and two 30-minute essay questions. Part 1 of the CMA exam is computer-based while Part 2 is a written exam.
Each exam is made up of 4 hours wherein 3 hours would be for the multiple-choice questions and 1 hour for the essay questions (The essays will be presented after you have completed the multiple-choice section).

How much time is available to pass both exam parts?

CMA candidates have three years to pass both parts of the exam. The time period will begin with the date of your entry into the CMA program.

What is the duration of the CMA classes?

Our CMA training runs for 3 months with each class being taught for an average of 3 to 4 hours.

How long would it take to pass both the exams in the first try?

Candidates can take about 6 months to 1 year to pass both part 1 and part 2 in the first try.

How do I attain the CMA certificate?

Once both the CMA exams are cleared, you’ll have to complete 2 years of relevant experience in the financial management or management accounting fields to be CMA certified. This must be obtained within 7 years of attempting the exam.
